chaotic mixer of some kind.
8 inputs to 2 outputs
which input goes to an output is controlled by two oscillators
or external LFO.,..

purely conceptual.

yes, i know there are no decoupling capacitors there.. also the remaining two parts of the 4093 shall be pulled-down.

yes, totally... for binary signals that should be how to do it.

for audio signals i would throw in a 4066 analogue switch... 2nd draft coming up

If you tickle the inhibit pin on the 4052 it will interrupt signals without the addition of another IC. However, it interrupts ALL signals, so a 4066 would be a fine choice if your cutups are to be selective.

yeah.. i'm putting a pin on the inhibit pin to mute everything...

since i made that (15 minutes ago), i have decided to remove the 4093 control oscillators from the design and stick to the rule of A.M.A.P. (as modular as possible)...

fucking hell.. the reason i never finish anything is because i end up adding more and more crap to my designs.

i just wanted to make a quick and dirty chaotic mixer... now i am looking at something consisting of at least 16 chips... because of course i need to be able to mute and invert all signals, both globally and left/right (i am limiting myself a little bit as i could add mutes and inverters to each input),,, ....

woah the 4067 things sounds interesting, gives me some ideas too, never looked at Multiplexer ICs !

multiplexers are great...

i have an idea to make a 8 to 8 switch using two 4051s... oscs to control which of the 8 inputs to select and oscs to control which output to select.....
