Title says it.
I need to deploy the playback heads from a few decks either in a fixed position
where tape is moved across it or the head is moved across the tape.
Naked pre-amp with no tone shaping.
9volts please.

Does the Boss OBD not deliver? I think all you need is gain for a tape head.

Truth be told I haven't even considered it. My brain went "-must build it-".
Great call though.

I have some transistor gain stuff, I'd be happy to throw a PCB into the outgoing box (assumption on my part).
It's based on the budget microphone preamp from a 1972 RCA projects/circuits book, being goosed with a single common emitter transistor gain stage.
