Nostalgia used to be categorized as a mental illness. Was even used as a reason for murders. Now nostalgia is acceptable encouraged and a product.
I happen to enjoy my nostalgia. Its a mostly nice bittersweet feeling. Its sad something and some time is gone but it feels good to remember it.

Apparently during the industrial age with all the young women leaving small towns to find jobs in horrible textile mills nostalgia was blamed for arsons suicides and some murders(hysteria coupled with nostalgia was deadly!).
After WW2 things changed. I have a book from the 1950s lamenting the loss of the good old days of the 1920s. By the 1970s the 1950s were the good old days and Happy Days and poodle skirts were part of nostalgia marketing.
Its funny seeing kids on YouTube talking about the good old days of 2010...lololol

Made the mistake of clicking a link to a Reddit page about a book I like and holy shit what a fucked up mess. I know I can seem imperious and grandious with some of the shit I write but fucking hell these people are so full of self righteous shit. Everything personally written by them is absolute fact and if you say otherwise you support Putin!(he is the current Hitler replacement on Reddit)
What did an author think about whatever topic because I want to attach thier writing to my wannabe hipster ideas well let me tell you with 100% certainty what some long dead author thought about my stupid fucking ideas and pet causes.
Wow.
