I can't believe it's a thing. I was flipping through web tv and one of the shows was just titled Competitive Shadow Boxing. I get it, if it's product of covid, but if people we're just already doing this...wtf. Best part was the person off screen going "uppercut, left hook, dodge..." & shit.

You get stuck at work for just 10 minutes because a co-worker stops you right when you're about to leave to ask you to help them and the whole world goes insane as soon as you walk out of the building. Some home-visit cat care van in the parking lot, probably euthanising cats right there in the van. Got honked at by an ambulance, literally hurt my ears, though I suppose it was my fault. I'm sorry you were stopped at the intersection and weren't running your sirens, bitch. I've been up since 2AM! And anyway, they usually edge their way through intersections when there's an emergency. The ambluance was at a dead stop with its lights on and no cars passing ahead of me.

Passed another a while later, likely heading to the same emergency. They had sirens on. Traffic is like rush hour at two PM everywhere. I'm surrounded! Went to the bank, then the liquor store. Saw a hulking van full of kids with a Choose Life plate reading "GODDUZ" pulling out of a McDonlad's or Dairy Queen ahead of me on the way home, which I found more amusing than I should've. It's taking forever to get anywhere. Jesus! So many cars!

Then I see a black baby in a diaper chasing a Labrador in the street just at the intersection at the end of my cul de sac. What the hell? Thankfully, the parent/older sibling/whatever ran outside screaming after it shortly thereafter... Some person driving behind me saw it too and I guess called 911 or whatever. I would've done more if I had a phone and didn't want to look like a creep trying to entice a baby into my car, freshly stocked with liquor. All's well that ends well. I made in home in one piece. No dead dogs and/or babies to worry about. Fuck this whole city right now, though.

When I first moved to chicago in the late 80's I lived near this really gross hotdog stand called "Duks". Anyway I saw a baby in diapers walking down the street holding some dollars in it's hand to go get food at dogs. Around the corner was some asshole with a German Sheppard and he'd let it charge at people and then call it back at the last moment as if that was fucking hilarious.

five-year-old moderator pm addressed to me on the metal archives forum:
I have nothing against you but you post weird, peculiar stuff that's crossing the line often and you really don't quite fit with the rest of the board or that's what you tell yourself and act accordingly. There was no need for a long apology though, I'm not offended at all and I don't think you're a dumbass either.
God, what more do you want from me?! "Act accordingly"?! Jesus Ache Christ! I was apologizing for offending you uptight prog rock fuckers! I did not go out of my way to do that. Get on my level. It's about 50,000 miles above skewering puppies under your pornogrind stilettos, you fucking uptight, arrogant wimp! YOU HAVE HURT MY FEELINGS AND SCARRED MY SOUL VERY DEEPLY FOR ALL THESE YEARS, ELITIST CUUUUUUUNT!

I'm sorry I'm not polite enough reddit-archives material for you, you fucking Canadian asshole.

I was checking out at the liquor store after work this afternoon. The store has two facing registers, so the person checking out at the parallel register is to the back of the person checking out at the other.

I was there, checking out and listening to him chat with the checkout lady while I bought mine. He sheepishly asked her "How do I quit this stuff?". Obviously, she was in no position to play substance absue counselor, but she said that she drinks cream soda, and suggested mixing it in daiquiris or rum and cokes. It was so awkward and sad. I left after paying for mine, got into my car and I watched that guy walking to his car, holding his bag.
