4ms Noise Swash
$250
OG build by Doug Harrison. Pre-owned. Works fine, just too unruly for my tastes.
Morley Pro Series II Wah
$45
Pre-owned. Yep, it's a wah alright.
Johnson EAD-2 Echo Analog Delay
$40
Pre-owned. Obscure and shoddily-designed digital/tape-style delay; a poor man’s DD-3.
Still, there’s some interesting sounds you can get out of it, especially when modded (like this guy did).
Considered modding it myself but I simply don’t have the time (or money).
Circuit-bent Homedics Body Basics white noise machine
$35
Bent by yours truly, this otherwise banal sound generator has been given a fresh coat of obnoxiously pink pour paint,
in addition to the following features:
• pitch knob with toggle switch
• overdrive knob
• “chopper” knob with toggle switch (see demo video)
• “purée” switch (see demo video)
• body contacts (see demo video)
• momentary reset button
• battery status LED (to differentiate between the “off/resume” LED)
• 1/4” output jack (no speaker)
• native features: six selectable sound loops, off/resume button (i.e. a mute toggle), volume knob
Takes 4 x AA batteries or a center-positive 6v wall wart (included with purchase!)
You can get some downright grimy noises out of this thing,
however the mods used to get them can be temperamental and difficult to understand at first.
I can explain the more esoteric details of its operation to interested parties.
Circuit-bent dual door alarm noise machine
$30
Another bend of mine, this questionable contraption essentially outputs two separate signals from two identical electronic door alarms,
leading to some interesting stereo phasing effects if used in tandem with a mixer.
Other features include:
• dedicated pitch knobs for both alarms; both knobs are activated by one switch,
but the pitch of either alarm can be adjusted independent of the other
• an RCA-based patch bay: creates interconnections between the two alarms, often yielding odd new sonic behaviors
Takes 6 x LR44 button cells.
Opto-APC in a soup can
$10 OBO
Atari Punk Console based on two 555 ICs. Reacts to light.
I wanted to make a bunch of these for some kind of art installation but that simply wasn't in the cards.
Runs on 9v battery.
Circuit-bent GUN
free if you buy ≥$50 of stuff from me
