Intimacy

It is a late night running back to mine
– my feet are quick against the concrete word
– coward listening for what I haven’t heard
and scared of promises – have lost my spine
– playing not dead but awakwardly excused
– then slow to walking pace at the last turn
– and act unflustered so no cop can learn
a thing about the night-time gait I’ve used.
The door ajar I do not need to buzz
– I’m safe – back home and so can throw the bolt
– assuming flight away from fears will halt
whatever bears on what a rival does.
I have walked out more hits than britpop did;
this time I ran to get away – and hid.

last week, I felt suicidal, and saw hat sensation of panic folded up and go into my head. since then, my feelings of terror are more numb, and less impulsive. I am poor at making plans, so this is a good thing for my "life".

a peaceful myself is quite an undertaking. you need pain to outweigh hope, and you need to existentially want it, for it to be rational, to excuse yourself from others, and then to do the deed ably.
