There's the whole "there must be gender balance on the board of directors of the company" argument but I would rather see the best X candidates selected entirely on their ability to do the job, not on whether they have a penis / vagina or not.

This presumes that the people making the decisions to hire aren't gender biased. For example it used to be common for companies to reject women out of hand because of the chance of them having children and taking leave. Or how do minorities get relevant work experience and become the best candidate after generations of being at a disadvantage?

I'm of course not saying to hire people who aren't qualified . What if the most qualified person happens to be a total asshole but on paper look terrific? I've had to work with a number of people like that only to have to clean up their messes later when they move on.

there's arguably a difference between process and result. making hnw may be pretty trivial, but that doesn't mean it is. doesn't seem to work out that way for me.

Calling something harsh when it's just boring is boring to me and most certainly cliched.(look at punk or gangstery rap done by gated community kids). It's more about the theme and packaging than the...mostly...boring sounds.
