KEEPING THE RITA OUT OF MY STEREO
it has never made it more than few seconds scrolling around the audio fast for realizing the track is all the same...
thank the Gods never spent cash buying any of his tapes or vinyl
why even bother wasting my time since he obviously didn't really care making his product
HNW is a joke & the funniest part is you think it's all so serious!

IDK. I'm not big into HNW and a lot of the stereotypes associated with it. I don't care about HNW cliches or "purity" much, but I think of HNW as a very utilitarian, uh, product. It has intrinsic value for "meditation" as I crudely know it, much the same way drone, or even "noise in general" does.

It's a useful thing, if only for calming the fuck down. I bought a weighted blanket out of curiosity after my mom expressed interest in them. I bought her two for Sexmas, and one for myself. Fuck it if it doesn't actually do what they describe it to do. I hate to admit that, being the contrarian cunt that I am, but it works! I swear by this. HNW is basically a weighted blanket for ya braine.

I should add that a generic white noise generator pumping out hiss form a tiny, tin-y little speaker doesn't provide much variety (I can hear you all saying "just get a white noise machine" now). I do prefer lower, slower and altogether more "gravely" textures.

Hah...yes I like this.

My fake RITA video...its of peoples feet.

I have one of those glassbead blankets...great.
Doesn't remind me of the rita at all or Vomir or any noise of any type
In fact...the blanket is antinoise.
(For me anyhow)

i was posting on some weird yuppy place, and read someone who was excited about hnw, how it was a great time for noise... fair enough, if you like wall. anyway, i was a little confused when they said that left handed decision was always that important. maybe my imagination, but maybe that rock / journalist bias thing again.

i can listen to hnw cos no-one is pretending it's not generic or that they're important

You're more or less using the infamous " A child of 5 could do it!" critique of Abstract expressionism, Picasso et al.

(The Rita's tracks are not "all the same" BTW, as the source, A shark cage, or Skateboarding is never a uniform sound.)

yes a motivated/inspired child at 5 with minimal gear can easily without any doubt do HNW...

Well that's just it, painting by numbers. Its possible to paint, make art, poetry, music etc. in any past style with relative ease. As in any period there are very skilful people, but art (in the western tradition) is more than skill, its creating without numbers, something... new.
