That's why I provided a video.
Go on...watch it I dare you...it sucks.
Watched...xe2x80xa6 still don't get it?

So - there are groups in facebook? is that it?
Its just the way its presented.
Its not good.
Trying to remember in what context I saw this video as well.. it was kinda like are they selling the idea of groups to people who were literally born yesterday? What's this internet I've been hearing so much about? Groups? Fancy that.. people on the internet with common interests talking to one another, AMAZING!

Somebody should do a parody version where most of the people appearing in it are representations of all the bots that sign up to groups and post pron and spam.

I find advertising fascinating. Maybe because of the magnitude of the hypocrisy and contempt for other humans. Case: ba-n cigarette advertising, ad firms then claim they are not effective, yet to their customers claim they are.

Case. Smart adds, often good but afterwards do you remember the product? Crass bad ads, horrible, but you remember... so the Kazoo ad, i remember kazoo, and only then facebook groups... did this ad effect kazoo sales?

I think that's why the ads of the 60s and 50s IMO were far more effective, kept very simple... "Double two shirts, the shirts you don't iron,xe2x80x9d sung by dancing shirts...

And then famous failure ad for Strand Cigarettes, bye line "Your never alone with a Strand" - picture - man on own walking .... Sales plummeted - message = Strand - for sad lonely losers...

Many in the 60s 70s totally not PC. Famous Manakin Cigars ..., Cadbury's flake... now banned..

So Pat... picture of Trash can dancing... Singing "The Wonderful thing about rubbish is rubbish...rubbish rubbish..

Heh.. well maybe a bit of a special case since nicotine is addictive and ad agency are probably trying to distance themselves from responsibility

As I mentioned I've worked in proximity to advertising for many years and personally never understood it's effectiveness. I think it's probably changed quite a bit in this day and age when you can search for what you are looking for but then it's about rigging your SEO to put your product before others. Otherwise advertising is about product awareness so as long as the commercials isn't complete shit it could be anything as long as the consumer remembers your product.

And then I guess once you've dominated the market you can get really abstract just so that your brand is always on the consumers mind.. I guess by using the latest music they are hoping to program into the dna of the consumer a connection to their brand that will last a lifetime.. think Coke is it.

I did some animation for a series of children's videos years ago featuring the voice of Roger Daltry no less. Anyway the field for such videos is extremely competitive and the director decided to try direct marketing which basically means commercials and phone operators to take orders. It's expensive to do this and apparently a large number of calls they received were from children.. who obviously could not actually pay for the videos.

Speaking of truth in advertising.. I worked on a series of Max Steel commercials in the late 90's. There are for most countries fairly strict regulation of what you can do in such a commercial. For example a certain portion of the commercial has to show the actual toy rather than being all computer graphics and also you can't show the toy doing certain things in either case. For example if the spot was for Italy we could have shown the doll operating an actual flamethrower and being thrown through glass windows but everywhere else all of that would be a lawsuit. Of course we could have done a specific commercial just for italy but it of course had the smallest budget so they basically got the same spot everyone else got.

CORONAVIRUS WORLD TOUR COMES TO ALABAMA!

Boy! It was fun trying to buy beer + chips and soda for lazy-lunch at work tomorrow... Walmart is a fucking shitshow right now.

PS: Seriously considering buying two Tiptop Mantis eurorack cases (with plans to buy at least one more--maybe two--for extra-long-term, future-proof goals), now that I've finally accepted my fate. This is the worst [or is it the best?] time for me to finally come around to euroack too, apparently. Because it seems that everyone wants a modular now. Bad news financially. I blame Andrew Huang.

Ah! eurorack. I started with a Tiptop happy ending, filled it, so sold it and bought a Mantis. Filled that! So bought a happy ending off ebay for less than I sold my original...

Mantis xe2x80x93 nice unit and portable, but I cant see how you can stack them, unlike the happy ending.

My plan if I survive is probably to mod my 0-coast to euro rack it and get the Behringer 2600 if and when China starts making them, and rack mount above the happy ending.

Note: The gold thing behind the Happy Ending which looks like something in the news at the moment i made last summer? Is it all my bad?

I was flip-flopping on the mantis for a while, specifically because I wasn't sure of how I could set two of them up into a large, tidy, secure console. But I recently saw this:

And there was no more reason for debate! Getting to the power toggles would be awkward, especially in a row of four. I can live with that, though.

Hopefully, I can get one of those Behringer mantis knock-offs if/when they ever become available for a third/fourth case.

I don't know. But, for what it's worth, it's become an amusing spectacle.

Authority, traditions, all police, all government and politics that's not total old school anarchy.
mediocrity, conformity, needy people, kids, old people, yoga pants wearing soccer mommy 'community' Karen type of women..who wear visors, yuppies...and then we get to rednecks.

Asssholes and phonies trying to make a profession out of noise, trying to 'make it' ..whatever 'it' is, I hate that too.
Art phony hustler types...yeah, I hate you fuckers too!

Maybe this discussion should get moved into gear but my preferred portable rack solution are these flip up mixer racks.. they can be had for about $100 and then you can use 4 tiptop racks. I built my own power supply using Mean Well psu's and a DIY distribution board for the ribbon cables. So I think cost wise it may be cheaper than the equivalent Mantis setup and when you don't have to unpatch to pack it up for travel and the cases are stackable which is good since I have 5 of them.

Due to the virus we've had suburban folk coming down here out of season and they suck...but the yoga pants are fun to look at.
A lady yesterday...I could see her pubic mound split in the middle even...it was obscene...I looked of course but I mean really come on lady.
