I'm typically one of the only people around who actually has anything nice to say about the USPS, or at least the people working under it. But, god damn. Fuck them when they jerk me around just to cover their asses (I get it. Where I work, we're constantly being scored according to some bullshit metric that makes no allowances for things entirely out of our control. And we all game the system and fudge the numbers regularly, just to meet bullshit corporate expectations). But fuck this. I now have to wait 'til Monday for a package that should've been here Friday and hope they actually attempt to deliver it before shipping it back to the sender. All day long, they showed it as being "out for delivery" until 7:fucking45 PM or thereabouts, only to suddenly list it as "available for pickup" at 5:02 PM, waaaay the fuck after they had already closed for the day. And I'm willing to bet it was never even on the truck. They pull fake arrival/scan/attempted delivery BS all the time when it suits them, i.e., when they fuck up and have to play CYA hot potato with people's shit.

Pain in the ass...

PS: Lame-ass shrimp-dicks with loud-as-fuck "HEAR ME ROAR!" mufflers ripping up the calm at 8:22 PM suck also. I hope you die, douchebag. You're probably 3 miles away now, and I can still hear your cunting muffler off in the distance from my open window.

I have had issues over the years with the usps .. the occasional claim a package was delivered when it wasn't. Although in one case months after I got a replacement of what I thought had not been delivered turned out to have been misplaced by my gf at the time.

Anyway the postal service is barreling towards insolvency. From what I understand the GOP setup them up for failure awhile back and the surprisingly there has been a drop in mail profits during the pandemic. I'd actually think itd be the opposite. Anyway given that it is no longer reasonable cost wise to ship releases overseas anymore it's kinda like I'm ready for a replacement but most likely people in rural areas will get fucked over.

Read up on the USPS retirement/pension funding scheme that George W Bush set up to ruin the USPS and to have a massive supply of pension cash to loot(think about what Hoffa and the mafia did to the unions).
Obama didnt do shit to correct this and turnip doesn't care either and I assume Biden could give a fuck since he was with Obama...but the constitution requires that we have a postal service so while they will drag thier feet they will fund it....eventually...I hope.

Yeah I was aware of how they were doomed to fail but I think itll have to go through congress to get fixed which isn't very likely at this point.

Also the pricing that puts Canada on a same scale as some country across the oceans is bullshit and the price to send overseas is sad and annoying.

Well that isn't entirely true but you lose the option to send media mail if outside of the us which means the cost to ship anything tape cd or lp instantly is as much or more than you can get for the typical release and it's even worse for actual overseas shipments

Last time I checked, shipping from US to Canada costs far less than US to anywhere else. It's still bullshit, but not nearly as bullshit as shipping to anywhere in Europe.

Endless, shockingly vivid, tactile and protracted, cannot-wake-up-and-convinced-they're-real stress dreams for the past three days (broken light bulb glass covering me and getting glass embedded in my fingers, being covered in a swarm of moths, hands being pressed into flattened, purple pancakes from "sleeping on them wrong", etc.)

Tired as fuck, but never able to sleep when I try since waking up at ~2AM last night.

I have to go back to work today, for the next three days at least. Idonwanna.

Trying to buy microphones. Hideously expensive for the most part. And every time I settle on one or two based on various forum discussions, someone chimes in with an additional dozen or so models and vague descriptions that sound identical to all the others, but suggest that maybe these mics are the best for applications X, Y and Z instead. Then I look up prices and some of them are fucking 1-2 grand a pop. Pure headache.
