well, see, that song lyrically is actually quite crafty. i think a good load of decent vocal-driven pe is at least partially inspired by the lyrics of michael gira. who really did, does, have a way with words.

um, i think you're going to have to rephrase the question. but i'll try to answer based on what i think the question is asking. for me the power of power electronics goes to that old knowledge is power nugget. without knowledge, that is to say content, there is no power. there is just electronics. just noise. so call pe more explicitly content driven noise. there are obviously recognizably pe-ish sound elements that have been codified over time but more a product of how how i'd say things happened to work out.JLIAT wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 1:08 am how much is Power Electronics differentiated from Noise - Harsh Noise by "high frequency squealing sounds, and screamed, distorted, often hateful and offensive lyrics.." which relates it more towards live 'performance' than studio composition, editing etc. such as noise more related to Musique concrxc3xa8te.
(i.e. can the Noise 'label' include both these variations of sound production?)![]()

I cant see the deliberately provocative imagery and lyrics of PE as anything much to do with 'knowledge'. Certainly in early cases the content being just that, and nothing more. But if the general right wing drive of PE is true, intellectualism and knowledge seems not apt.

I'll double down on my comment.
And then to another extreme, DeathKey et. al. & etc.
If the lyrical content were not vocals screamed into an overloaded mic feeding cascade of distortion and other sonic mayhem but rather clean, well spoken and enunciated, would it matter?
Where does the power come from?
Provoking a reaction is not the same thing saying something significant.
I'm asking for a friend so, okay.

The term 'power', first used by Bennett, I would say is as regards to the audience, in xe2x80x9ca sound that could bludgeon an audience into submissionxe2x80x9d together with lyrics which would do likewise. I'm not aware that Bennett put any of the more sensational and illegal actions into actual practice, and it would be in line with his supposed intentions more to utilize this as performative.

as in the general pro-nutsy drive of Schindler's List, and general pro-nonconsensual-sex drive of Straw Dogs, and general pro-nonconsensual-sex-with-nazis drive of The Night Porter?

Re: Power Electronics Tips xe2x86xa9

Power Electronics is the application of solid-state electronics to the control and conversion of electric power.
The first high power electronic devices were mercury-arc valves. In modern systems, the conversion is performed with semiconductor switching devices such as diodes, thyristors, and power transistors such as the power MOSFET and IGBT. In contrast to electronic systems concerned with transmission and processing of signals and data, in power electronics substantial amounts of electrical energy are processed. An AC/DC converter (rectifier) is the most typical power electronics device found in many consumer electronic devices, e.g. television sets, personal computers, battery chargers, etc. The power range is typically from tens of watts to several hundred watts. In industry a common application is the variable speed drive (VSD) that is used to control an induction motor. The power range of VSDs start from a few hundred watts and end at tens of megawatts.
Thus the term originally came from an old electronics book.
The term Power Electronics started being used around 1902...
long before Bennet saw a book with that title.
(pretty sure that's the story eye was told yet my memory is hazy anymore)
P.E. is Physical Education
Don't get so caught up on buzzwords, genres, sub-genres. & speculative foolish rhetoric.
Utilize the Power of creative visualization & manifestation.
come up with concept
write some lyrics
make your "noise" & scream the lyrical vocals on top of it
add some mic feedback if so desired
There are Leaders & there are followers...
It's not that difficult...
yet some can't ever do it... like most things...
Try actually doing it instead of just posting hypothetical fan boi theories about it on some nowheresville noise forum.
Stop dicking around & fucking focus(eliminate distractions) for making something very specific.

Not sure of your point here, might help to address the whole sentence?
" But if the general right wing drive of PE is true, intellectualism and knowledge seems not apt."
Both extremes, right and left, seem to prefer the gun to the intellectual discussion....
