CHIMORA is a two-person drone-doom/black noise project based out of Oakland, CA. Their name comes from the native word for a certain shamanistic sacrament that is both intensely nauseating and psychedelic; two words that summarize the feeling one may get from this project. CHIMORA has gone on one west coast tour, opening for MDC and Verbal Abuse at the Methfest Noise Festival in Seattle. Their sound consists of ultra-sonic bass death-throbs, tortured high screams/low growls, dissonant guitar chords, and layers of harsh noise and dark ambient textures.
