Bio

Conceived in the fall of 2015, KIRA is a harsh noise wall project based in New Jersey, USA. KIRA is the successor to Blutbad, a similar project that had 23 releases before being abandoned for KIRA. The self-titled demo "KIRA" was released on October 7th, 2015. The title of the project is a refence to the anime/manga series Death Note.

In the early days of KIRA, there was a lot of experimentation with not only traditional harsh noise wall, but harsh noise, power electronics, drone, and even industrial. The 2016 full-length "Modernism Tragedy" is an example of such experimentation. However, as of June 2018, the project is now strictly harsh noise wall.

To date, KIRA has released 8 full-length albums. The inaugural full-length "Saturn Devouring His Son" was released on October 31st, 2015. The 2020 album "MU" is the only full-length not to be self-released, instead put out by HNW, a U.K.-based harsh noise wall netlabel which KIRA has 3 other releases, including a compilation appearance. There are currently 5 KIRA releases on LSD Induced Nightmares Records, a Texas-based noise netlabel.

On May 12th, 2017, KIRA released "KIRA III." After that, the project went on hiatus for over a year until June 2018 with the release of "it's better to live in solitude."
