BACKGROUND

DAKTYLOI (stylized in all capital letters) is a tape collage/musique concrète/harsh ambient noise project. The project was conceived of in 1997 by Evan Rossi as a private pursuit and as a way to utilize his extensive collection of razor tape collage and cassette tape loops. Some recordings eventually became available to the public starting in December, 2020. He is based out of Tallahassee, Florida, USA.

FORMAT

DAKTYLOI releases are given specific designations. Individual tracks are referred to as "Dispatches" and are denoted with a Dxxx suffix followed by a more traditional title scheme (example: D298 - BELVEDERE BONE FOLLY). Compiled collages, typically the length of an EP, are referred to as Bulletins. To date, there are 28 Bulletins. Live albums are referred to as Digests.
