It incorporates highly distorted, chaotic, and abrasive sounds, similar to those found in gorenoise but with an additional emphasis on using insect-like noises, glitchy sounds, and buzzing static. The genre typically features heavy distortion, low-quality recording, and unconventional sound structures that often resemble buzzing insects or static interference rather than traditional musical elements.

Like gorenoise, bugnoise emphasizes lo-fi production, often layering sound to create an intentionally unpleasant, harsh auditory experience. Vocals, if present, are usually muffled, distorted, or deep, resembling guttural growls.
