Bio

Founding (only) member of the Griaule Noise Project. After realizing that apparently no one besides himself has the intellectual capacity required to properly pronounce the name "Griaule" , AmishRobots has basically given up performing under that name (as if he's ever performed more than 5 or 6 times under any name anyway) and typically just goes by "AmishRobots" (all one word, no spaces!) At one time AmishRobots was a prominent member of the Noise community, creating a slew of highly influential albums that nobody listened to, and selling rather questionable effects pedals on Ebay, until he lost access to his account on that shitty popular website due to circumstances which had nothing to do with his own conduct as a seller with a 100% perfect rating. He's still pissed off about that, and blames his father, who had the dumb idea to give him the same first and last name at birth, thereby making I.D. confirmation impossible for the idiots working at Ebay. No really; I am "AmishMICHAELRobots" he is "AmishCARLRobots" why can't you dickheads get that straight???

AmishRobots is known for his use of automobile license plates as enclosures for his effects pedals. The first FX pedal made and sold by AmishRobots was a passive Ring Modulator, which was sold to William DeWolfe of Cincinnati, OH. Subsequent effects have included Fuzz pedals based on a two-stage version of the bazz fuss design, with an onboard feedback loop controls, the "Tink Modulator" which is essentially a modified version of Tim Escobedo's "Thing Modulator" circuit, and simple (and not so simple) True Bypass Feedback Loopers. Other effects and audio devices made by AmishRobots include the elusive "Picasso Vulcan" (whatever the fuck that is) the cd40106-based "Oscillot", the "Black Coil Fuzz" which was a lm386 based distortion, coupled with an inductor+ multiple capacitors controlled by a complicated network involving 3 switches, and a very noise-specific sort of "thereminesque" device that requires a CFL lightbulb, or similar source of radiation to operate.

The tragic loss of access to his Ebay account caused a deep depression which hindered his interest in building effects pedals for quite some time, but recent success on Etsy [[1]] selling very simple contact mic noise-boxes has rekindled his interest in perhaps creating more interesting effects circuitry again in the near future.

AmishRobots' actual output as a noise artist has declined sharply in the last 10 or 15 years due to several factors I'm not telling you about, so Fuck off.

The very first Griaule (self titled) album, of which 1 copy was ever sold, is still out of print at this time, and only one copy is known to exist.
