Carrion Eater

Carrion Eater is a New England-based death industrial/power electronics project created by Hyæna as a way to provide a creative outlet for his crippling depression at the time, as well as his general political and social views. He chose the name of the band due to his favorite animal, the hyena, being an eater of carrion or rotting flesh, and chose it based on this morbid fact. Thematically, the project focuses on violent deaths, suicide, mental illnesses, Christian hypocrisy, and dark perversions. His first recording, Recitation, was slated to more of a dark/ritual ambient direction focusing on Satanism and dark occultism. This changed with the release of the next single, Snake Pit, and the addition of distorted vocals under waves of harsh synth noise.

Darkness and Decay Hold Dominion Over All

Carrion Eater's first album was released on his bandcamp, and received high praise by record reviewer Anthony Fantano, and went on to be his most successful album to date.
